Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is today announcing a job opening in its Northern Territory business unit. The managerial role will oversee the planning and delivery of initiatives in Northern Territory aligning with DSA’s vision to enable more Australians with disabilities to be more active, more often.

DSA is one of Australia’s nine National Sporting Organisations for people with disabilities (NSOD). All NSODs share a purpose to improve the lives of Australians living with disabilities through sport and leisure activities. Flagship programs such as Activate Inclusion Sports Day and Accessibility Champion Course help DSA create supportive environments for people with disabilities to be active.

Disability Sports Northern Territory was established in October 2019 via Sport Service Provider Grant Funding from Northern Territory Government. The DSA business unit works closely with Northern Territory peak sporting bodies and community sports officers to facilitate more accessible pathways and programs across the territory.

The role requires a disability advocate with experience coordinating events and developing partnerships with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will display high degrees of time management skills, initiative, and a positive attitude. A strong knowledge of social media platforms will be favoured as DSA aims to build its presence in Northern Territory.

Applications will be available to submit via The Field - an accessible employment platform by Get Skilled Access and the Federal Government that aims to close the employment gap for people with disabilities.

“We are excited to announce this job opening and look forward to finding a passionate individual to lead our Northern Territory business unit. We hope conducting this application process through The Field’s accessible platform will attract more people with disabilities to work with DSA,” said Dr Phil Hamdorf, Executive Chair of DSA.

Applications for the Manager position at Disability Sports Northern Territory are now open. Submissions can be completed via The Field and Sportspeople with applications closing on Friday 5 May. Click on the PDF attachment below to learn more about the role.
