Disability Sports Australia, in partnership with Blacktown City Council is proud to be working on a new and exciting project that will transform disability sport in New South Wales.

The Disability Sport Centre of Excellence, funded by the NSW Government and developed in partnership with Blacktown City Council, will be a state-of-the-art multipurpose indoor training facility for athletes with disability, located within the Blacktown International Sports Park.

The Disability Sport Centre of Excellence will feature two full-size basketball courts and other facilities and equipment, such as access to a gymnasium, a hydrotherapy pool, and a climbing wall.

The centre will also provide bespoke amenities, such as accessible accommodation, catering, transport, and childcare, designed to allow athletes with disability to train more often around work, family, and educational commitments.

The centre will also support Paralympic sports, to help foster pathways for sporting talent.

The centre will also host local, state and national training camps, as well as community and school programs, to promote disability sports and active recreation across the country.

The Disability Sport Centre of Excellence is expected to be completed by mid 2025, and will be the first of its kind in Australia.

We will also shortly open the expression of interest for sport organisations who want to secure bookings for the facility
