What is the Accessibility Champion course?
A user-friendly online module designed to introduce the principles of accessibility to community sporting clubs and leisure providers, paving the way for increased participation for people with disability.
The accessibility Champion Course will offer sporting clubs and leisure providers a foundational understanding of disability, designed to increase confidence to talk about disability and include people with disability in local clubs, programs and activities.
This ground-up approach to disability accessibility will promote visibility of disability sport and leisure activites, provide a welcoming environment to ensure a positive experience, and increase the amount of opportunities in communities around Australia for participation by people with disability.
To support a long-term sustainable approach to accessibility, Disability Sports Australia will provide sporting clubs and leisure providers with ongoing support through a bank of resources including links to other great disability support organisations.
