The XVI Summer Paralympic Games are to be held in Tokyo, Japan from Tuesday, 24 August - Sunday, 5 September 2021.
The 2020 Summer Paralympics mark the second time Tokyo has hosted the event, with the first being in 1964.
Athletes with disabilities will compete across 540 events in 22 sports. In 2021, para-badminton and para-taekwondo have been added the Paralympic programme, replacing 7-a-side football and para-sailing.
Australia is looking to better their 2016 Summer Paralympics performance which saw them finish fifth on the medal table with 22 gold, 30 silver and 29 bronze medals.
