Our Vision is Sport and active recreation for all Australians with a disability
Essentially we want any person with a disability in Australia, throughout their lifespan, to have a broad, interesting and accessible range of opportunities to choose from in sport and active recreation. Each child with a disability should be able to access active play and foundational sport activities close to home, just like other kids do. Young or old, having a disability should not mean you are limited in your choices in sport. Sadly, we’re not there yet!
We know that physical activity provides a huge range of health and social benefits and research tells us that people with a disability are far less physically active than their able bodied peers. This means many people with a disability are missing out on the health and social benefits of sport enjoyed by most Australians. Over 80% of people with a disability, regardless of physical activity level, want to do more! The need to increase physical activity in this cohort is compelling and the desire is there.
Even a small contribution, whether of your time, your money, your expertise or your enthusiastic volunteering can make a huge difference! Will you help us?
You can make a donation to us by clicking the Donate Now link above. Currently we use GiveMatcher for all our donations as their system is simple, secure and all donations are matched. Currently, the very generous team at Polyglot are 100% matching any donations up to $30. Which means if you donate $30, they will match it 100% and we will receive $60.
GiveMatcher allows donors, companies and philanthropists to work together, allowing donors to leverage their donations by selecting matching donations from companies and/or philanthropists of their choice.

Donating through GiveMatcher benefits everyone! You get double the satisfaction of donating to your chosen charity because your donation will be matched, charities like DSA receive up to twice as much than what they would received directly, and companies and philanthropists can proudly and publicly donate to causes they support.
Through Good2Give, you can donate to Disability Sports Australia with Workplace Giving donations. These are deducted from your pre-tax pay. Normally, when you make a general donation to a charity, you claim it as a tax deduction when you file your yearly tax return. Through pre-tax payroll giving the Australian Tax Office allows you to claim the benefit up front each pay. Donations made through Workplace Giving are made before tax is taken – resulting in an immediate reduction in your tax paid. The tax calculated each pay will be done so minus your donation and this means you’ll pay less tax. By getting the tax benefit upfront (at the time of the donation) you won’t need to wait until the end of financial year to claim it back, or collect donation receipts.
The world’s leading platform for charity giving is also in Asia Pacific. We help people like you raise more for the causes you care about.
Our job is to make giving and raising money for charity simple, social and rewarding. Through online and mobile we bring the best that technology has to offer to charities worldwide – which explains why more charities recommend JustGiving than any other online fundraising platform.
Pro Bono Australia acts as a hub for people who want to engage with Australia’s Not for Profit organisations and community. We largely focus on charitable sector organisations rather than clubs or Associations.
If you want to find out about the newsworthy issues concerning the Not for Profit sector, volunteer your professional skills, get paid work in the sector, find a Not for Profit organisation to donate to, read about businesses and what they do to support resilient Australian communities, or if you are already working in the sector finding product and service providers who understand the particular needs of the sector – we are it. As a hub for the sector, if we don’t do it you can generally find out who does.
