Australian Steelers crowned Four Nations Champions for 2010

Australian Paralympic Committee hosted the 2010 Wheelchair Rugby 4 Nations at the State Sports Centre, Sydney Olympic Park on 28 April to 2 May. The event served as a first-class platform for the preparation of the Australian Steelers World Championship campaign and played a critical role in determining the make-up of Australia’s 2010 World Championship squad.

In what was a week of strong, hard fought and contested games, the final saw the undefeated Australians go head to head with Canada. Australia came out on top to win the championships 57 points to 52 points.

In what was another fiercely contested match, the play off for 3rd and 4th positions saw Great Britain and New Zealand go into double overtime to decide the match, with New Zealand prevailing to win 53-52.
