Australia will host the 2017 World Disabled Water Ski Championships from the 24th - 30th April 2017.
2017 marks the 15th World Disabled Water Ski Championships; the 4th time in Australia and the first time at Myuna Bay, Lake Macquarie, N.S.W. Disabled Water Ski Australia are excited to host this prestigious event, the last occasion being in Townsville, 2007. This will be a memorable event and will help showcase disabled water skiing and its fantastic athletes to the world.
Australian water skiers who have a range of disabilities including arm/leg amputees, paraplegia, and quadriplegia, will all compete, along with the best skiers from around the World, in the Championships.
It is a significant achievement for anyone to represent their country, especially for a disabled athlete. It is also an important motivational tool for other people facing adversity to find a way to achieve their goals.
